The Man Behind the Mission

He didn't build a platform. He built a presence — on the streets, in the prisons, and in the lives of people the world had already written off. This is his heart.

His Story

The Streets Didn't
Scare Him.
They Called Him.

"God can draw straight lines
with crooked sticks."

Eric Schwalbach didn't come from a seminary. He came from the same streets he serves. He didn't wait for a committee to approve his mission or a budget to fund his calling. He went. He showed up. He kept showing up.

The ministry of Jesus In The Streets grew out of one unshakeable conviction — everyone deserves a second chance. Not the people who look like they deserve it. Everyone. The man under the bridge. The woman coming out of prison. The teenager failed by every system meant to protect him.

Eric goes to them. Not eventually. Now.

He has fed thousands. Prayed with hundreds. Walked alongside people coming out of incarceration when no one else would. He's not building a brand — he's building people.

"I know your deeds. I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. You have little strength — yet you kept my word and have not denied my name."

Revelation 3:8 · The Word Eric Stands On

The Philadelphia church that Jesus commended wasn't the biggest or most powerful. It was the most faithful. That's Eric. Little strength. Immovable faithfulness.

He believes the door Jesus opened for this ministry is the same door the broken and forgotten need to walk through. He'll be standing at it every day, making sure they know it's open.

Nine times out of ten, the story behind the misbehavior won't make you angry — it will break your heart. — Annette Breaux
Psalm 82 — Defend the weak and fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and oppressed; rescue the weak and needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.

Eric Runs With
the Faithful.

Eric isn't isolated on the streets. He's connected to the broader body of Christ — including the world of The Chosen, the most-watched Christian series in history with over 100 million viewers worldwide.

Faith isn't just his ministry — it's his marriage, his home, his family.

Living the Mission with Joy

The streets are serious work. Eric carries joy everywhere — because the Gospel is good news.

"The joy of the Lord is your strength." — Neh. 8:10

What Drives Him

Three Convictions.
One Life.

Eric doesn't talk about these. He lives them. Every day. On every street.

01

Everyone Deserves a Second Chance.

Not the people who look like they've earned it. Everyone. The man under the bridge and the man in the mansion both need what only God can give — Eric brings it to both without flinching.

02

You Go to People. They Don't Come to You.

Jesus looked up in the tree and said "I'm coming to your house today." Eric took that literally. He goes. Every time. Without waiting for permission, a budget, or perfect conditions.

03

God Grows What You Plant in Faith.

Eric plants. He waters. He trusts God for the harvest — and the harvest comes. He doesn't need to see the fruit to stay faithful. He just needs to keep showing up.

R.C. Sproul: Christians have nothing to be smug about. We are not righteous people trying to correct the unrighteous. Just one beggar telling another beggar where to find bread.
His Family

The Mission Starts
at Home.

Before Eric serves the streets, he serves his family. The Schwalbach home is the foundation everything else is built on.

Eric Schwalbach and Mrs. Schwalbach — the Schwalbach family

Built on Faith.
Grounded in Love.

Eric and Mrs. Schwalbach share more than a last name — they share a calling. Their home is where the mission lives before it ever hits the streets.

The Schwalbach family are living proof of exactly what Eric tells the people he serves: "If you make the right choices, you can grow up and have the life of your dreams — a beautiful family, kids who love you unconditionally, and the ability to provide for them the things you never had."

He's not preaching theory. He's living it.

The Church of Philadelphia · Revelation 3:7–13

"I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name."

"Because you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial."
